We have been at the service of Powell River's francophone and francophile community for more than 40 years!
We welcome you!
Community
Our community is situated on the coast, facing Georgia Straight, north of Vancouver at the end of highway 101 North. It's in Lund, last small district of Powell River, that the Conquistadors finished their journey into northern Canada coming from South America. Powell River's community counts almost 800 Francophones. They can enjoy the benefits of a community center, the Club Bon Accueil, which has been in service for more than 40 years, a French school, École Côte du Soleil, that offers classes from kindergarten up until the 12th grade.
Our mission Club Bon Accueil's mission is to promote the French language and culture in Powell River. We meet the needs of the Francophone community on many different levels: social, cultural, educational and community based activities.
Our goals - Greet Francophones and Francophiles in our community.
- Offer a meeting place for the French community.
- Offer services for our little ones by means of a French preschool, daycare and summer camp.
- Organize cultural and community based activities for Francophones and Francophiles of our region.
- Offer French as a second language classes and a diversity of workshops for all ages.
- Offer a resource center hosting a library and a video library.
- Develop lasting and stimulating bonds with different organisations or associations which have the same goals as ours.
- Make sure all these services are maintained on a regular basis.
By navigating our web site, you will be able to see everything the Club Bon Accueil has to offer to the community.
